Does Pinx remove ads from Pinterest?
Pinx doesn’t change Pinterest. It’s a separate app that opens your own boards through Pinterest’s official API, so there’s no feed, no promoted pins and no suggestions to begin with — only the pins you saved.
How do I sign in?
Tap “Continue with Pinterest” and approve Pinx on Pinterest’s own sign-in page. Pinx never sees your password.
Is there an Android app?
Yes. Pinx for Android is on Google Play, rebuilt natively with the same features as the iPhone app. It needs Android 8 or later.
Can I see boards I follow or my home feed?
No. Pinterest’s API only lets apps open your own boards and pins, so Pinx shows the boards you created and the pins on them. That’s also why there’s no feed.
Privacy
Can Pinx post or change anything on my Pinterest?
No. Pinx only asks for read access. It never posts, saves, moves or deletes anything on Pinterest. Shortlists, notes and tags live in Pinx on your phone.
Where are my notes and tags stored?
On your phone only. They aren’t uploaded anywhere and aren’t included in web links unless you choose “Use My Note” for a caption.
Who can see a web link?
Anyone you give the link to. Pages are unlisted and hidden from search engines, show no Pinx branding or Pinterest username, and you can edit or revoke them any time from the Web Links screen.
Pro & purchases
What do I get free, and what does Pro add?
Free shows 25 boards you choose and up to 50 pins on each, with shortlists, notes, tags and search. Pro is a one-time purchase that opens every board and every pin, and downloads whole boards for offline.
Is Pro a subscription?
No. Pro is a single purchase with future updates included.
I bought Pro in the old app. Do I keep it?
Yes. Open Settings in Pinx and tap Restore Purchase, signed in with the same Apple or Google account you bought it with.
I have an iPhone and an Android phone. Do I pay twice?
No. Pro belongs to your Pinterest account, so buy it once on either phone and it unlocks on the other when you sign in with the same Pinterest account.
Can I change which boards are free?
Yes. Choose your 25 free boards any time — deselect one to swap it for another.
Features
Does search work offline?
Yes. Pinx keeps a search index on your phone covering titles, descriptions, board names, notes and tags.
Can I play video pins?
Pinterest doesn’t make pin videos available to other apps, so Pinx shows the cover and a “Play in Pinterest” button.
Can I share a pin to Pinx from the Pinterest app?
Not directly: Pinterest’s share button sends a different pin ID than the one on your board, which the API won’t open. Instead, copy the link to one of your own pins and use “Add from Link” in a shortlist.
What’s in a board export?
A .zip with every image, an index.html you can open in any browser, and pins.csv with titles, descriptions and links.
Troubleshooting
A board or pin is missing.
Refresh the board. Pins from boards you follow, and pins other people own, can’t be opened through the API.
Siri doesn’t recognise my board name.
Open Pinx once after renaming boards so the names are passed to Siri, then say “Show my ‹board› board in Pinx”.
